Terry Jenkins will appear in Ireland this weekend for a presentation ceremony in The Park Inn, O' Loughlin Road, Kilkenny this coming Sunday night in a late addition to this weekends exhibitions throughout the Country. World number 5, The Bull will appear in Kilkenny City to cap off the weekends darts festival to present trophies and acknowledgments  to all involved in the weekends Bud light Kilkenny darts trophy.
One of the Worlds most popular players will be the icing on the cake for the weekends darts which ironically will start with another big name in World Darts Kevin "The Artist" Painter in the same Venue this coming Friday.
Kilkenny darts has without doubt become a competitive county to play your darts in and these nights can let some of the players breaking through an opportunity to show the bosses of the All Ireland Champions who can do what. I don't mean Brian Coady or Nicky Brennan when I say that either. All in all when you take into account the Terry Jenkins and Kevin Painter exhibitions taking place in Laois and Carlow this weekend and the Bud Light Kilkenny darts trophy on this weekend too and with Kevin playing in Kilkenny Friday with Terry presenting prizes on Sunday you have to say that in and around the borders of Laois,Kilkenny and Carlow is the place to be this weekend with a set of darts.
Preferably made by unicorn of course..

As previously mentioned here on darts exhibitions we have upcoming a few exhibitions over the next 3 weeks.
Kevin Painter will appear at the Park Inn in Kilkenny on Friday May 2nd while Terry Jenkins will appear on the same night in Brennan's in Carlow. I will be attending the Carlow show that night. The following night  Saturday 3rd May they will team up for a night in Ryan's in Laois to do battle in a double exhibition. The following week on Saturday 10th May Terry will appear in Donegal in John Joe's bar in Kilcar,Co. Donegal. I've been dealing with John Joe's of late with this exhibition and they seem to have stopped at nothing to have the darts night of their lives. I spoke to David today (head organiser) and he was telling me that they simply can't wait. Their organising is quality and only today we have confirmed the involvement of top caller and the PDC's Paul Hinks as MC. Anyone who has worked with or saw or just heard Paul Hinks at an exhibition will know what I mean.
Information on tickets for the exhibition with Terry and Paul can log onto www.donegaldarts.com and there you will find all you need to know.

The latest edition of the players championship took place on Saturday in Scotland and was won by Mervyn King. It was King's first win since joining the PDPA last year and although in the latter months of 2007 were kind to him in the sense that he had numerous last 8 and last 4 runs it was a win most people had expected would come a lot earlier. King was in breath taking form to be honest and literally tore the field a part which included Phil Taylor in the last 32. Mervyn then went onto beat Mark Dudbridge in the final. The Flash has been out of form too of late and some dart experiments from Sept 2007 to Christmas didn't benefit the Bristol man but something clicked this weekend and he was back to his best and this is great to see too as Dudbridge on form is a fierce competitor and a match for anyone as he proved in the World Matchplay in 2004 and the World Championship 2005 six months later with 2 final appearances. A sluggish premier league in 2005 did not help Marks confidence but his showing in Scotland at the weekend shows us he's up for it again.
A 4 leg run of 11 darts 9 darts 11 darts and 11 darts shows us what I have been saying for years about Colin Osborne on Saturday. Lionel Sams who is a member of the 9 dart club himself could merely stand back and watch as the scoring machine that is Osborne battered the lion into submission almost. Colin with his 9 dart leg picked up the role over 9 dart prize of £600 (I think) and it makes us laugh really when you think Colin LLoyd picked up £12,400 for the same feat a few weeks back. Thats the way the game goes though. The role over prize goes back to the start whenever a perfect game is hit. We've had a few the last couple of weeks with Lloyd, Askew and Taylor amongst others throwing the minimum leg.
Last week in Belgium Irish man Mick McGowan hit a nine dart leg in a practice game in Antwerp. I always said if you can do that your game is ok. Which takes me on to my next topic. The performance of McGowan in Scotland at the weekend was sublime. The Meath man who by his own admittance has been in somewhat of a slump lasting about 13 months now but to hit back in style with a semi final spot on Saturday shows us what he is and can be made of. He took Mason to the cleaners (live on Scottish TV) 3.0 in his second game after Ricky Williams suffered the same score line at the hands of McGowan in round one. Victories over Roland Scholten and Colin Osborne followed before he ran into an inspired King in the semi. What that result does yesterday for McGowan though to the untrained eye is this. It almost guarantee's him the World Grand Prix and if he can add another 4-600 over the next few players tournaments it will guarantee him Blackpool too. This is what I meant a few weeks back when I said to those complaining about the abolishment of the Citywest qualifiers. One good tournament (the way the merit system is setup) puts you in the driving seat. Only 16 qualify for Blackpool this year automatically and the rest is fought out over the players championships of those who are not already in the top 16. For the grand prix the top 12 qualify of those not automatically in the top 16 and the top 4 Irish players not inside the top 16 so you see how easy it can be? Not easy to win tough games against tough opponents as McGowan did on Saturday but if you think you warrant a day out at citywest and you are still peeved off about losing the qualifiers join the PDPA and give it a go.
As it stands playing at Citywest this year in order are Mick McGowan on 1625, John MacGowan on 825 and we have Jason Bary in a tie with the heavy scorer from Northern Ireland Brendan Dolan. Leading the chasing pack is Owen Caffrey on 400 and 75 back is James Keogh. All 6 with aspiration and all six in with a shout.
You need to play in a minimum amount which might damage the return of Keith Rooney in the coming months. I spoke to Rooney only yesterday and he is giving it a go big time next year and fair play too. Rooney has qualified for the Grand Prix on 2 occasions and beat James Wade on one of those can play a bit and will certainly add to the Irish level of competitveness for the Players order of merit.

I have said before the ranking and qualifying systems can be confusing but it is worth clicking on www.planetdarts.co.uk and going to the order of merit section to understand how it works. It's competitive, it is in some respects almost cut throat as we have so many good players going for such a small bit of cake but it is fair and gives everyone an equal go so why not check it out and it will give you a fair reflection on who will be on our screens from the WInter Gardens in July.

Following the down syndrome exhibition a few weeks back we will have a few photos coming up on site soon enough too as soon as they are received and the 5 figure some we raised will be an exact sum soon too when all the sponsorship has been handed in or collected. Anyone with any photos of the night or of any exhibition please do not hesitate to send them to info@dartsexhibitions.com.
Every exhibition we do we get loads and loads of photo's taken with players and fans but not enough get sent in so going forward I will be insisting this happens.

No premier league tip this Thursday I'm afraid as I was so wrong last weekend it wasn't even funny.Never mind.

The league is wide open as you can see from this latest league table heading into the 3rd last round. Could you pick the final 4? At this stage I've almost given up predicting who will get that 4th spot. I thought at the beginning it would be Taylor,Wade,Barney and John Part but although I don't make excuses travelling has drained the 3 time time Champion. But it's something JP wanted to do (going home I mean) and I think it has cost him. There is no way on God's green earth a player of John's class should be bottom with 7 from 11 and a negative 23 leg base. Next year he might alter that schedule. The Canadian along with Wade are 2 guarantees for next years league as they don't defend much in 2008. John defends a victory in Vegas but that is really it of real worry while James defends a few on the floor Category one/pro tour events and a runner up spot in Blackpool (2006)The new league cut off for next years league is after the Worlds unlike other years which was after the grand prix. Barney defends a World Championship winning spot along with a UK open Victory and a runner up spot in Vegas so should he fall down in any of these early he might even need a wild card. That wont happen I know but just to give you a quick indication as to why Barney is not a certainty and yet another insight into the 2 year ranking system. Terry defends, like James lots of pro tour wins and a final spot in the Grand Prix.
Anyway, as you can see from the league its up for grabs for 3rd and 4th spot.
This week Terry plays Hawaii, Adi Lewis plays Barney and Manley plays Wade.
I don't know I really don't. Imagine if Barney lost to Lewis tomorrow night and both Terry and Manley won.
Barney got a lot of stick off the English crowd last week against Taylor and it clearly rattled the Dutch man. I spoke to him afterwards too and it look like it drained him no end. With 5 defeats out of 11 and one of those he fell over the line against big JP and some less then dazzling performances on the floor I can almost bet the 5 time Champion of the World would take 4th spot now if you offered him it as he would think at this stage that 4th spot will more then likely give him a semi final shot at "The Machine" James Wade. I'd rather play Wade then Taylor at the moment. Not much in the difference though. But that is only an if of course.
Going to stick my neck out here with 3 weeks remaining.
1st Wade, 2nd Taylor, 3rd Barney,4th Jenkins.
Taylor v Barney semi and Wade v Terry

Anyway my quick accuma this week is this for the crack:

Jenkins 4/5
Wade -2.5 4/5
Barney 4/5
Part +3.5 10/11

Its pays slightly over 10/1 so why not.
